Nutritional Counseling Program
S.C. Healthy Connections Medicaid now covers nutritional counseling as part of the SCale Down initiative.
The goals are to reduce obesity rates in South Carolina and improve health outcomes for children and adults.
The program includes:
- One-on-one help from a doctor and licensed dietitian for help with healthy eating and physical activity
- Six visits with a doctor for personalized care
- Five additional individual or group sessions with a licensed dietitian or doctor to help with weight loss goals
- A total of up to 12 visits with a health care professional
