Jasper County Health Department to reopen its doors this December

RIDGELAND, SC - The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) today announced that it will reopen the Jasper County Health Department on December 1, 2014.

Housed in a 3,000 square-foot facility, the department will be located in the new section of the Mary Gordon Ellis Executive Building, at 651 Grays Highway, Ridgeland, SC 29936. The facility replaces the old Wilson Street health department in Ridgeland.

"We are pleased to announce that the Jasper County Health Department will soon be reopening it doors to the public," said Nicholas Davidson, DHEC Public Health Director for the Lowcountry Public Health Region. "In cooperation with Jasper County, the new Ridgeland facility represents our continued commitment to providing members of our local communities with greater access to essential healthcare services."

The new health department will offer a range of services, including Women, Infant, and Children (WIC) services, as well as childhood and adult immunizations. Services begin:

  • December 1, 2014, WIC
  • January 5, 2015, immunizations (shots), Family Planning, and STD/HIV testing services.
