Due to COVID-19, the Bureau of Drug Control is now issuing 90-day Emergency Temporary
Controlled Substances Registrations for Physicians, Physician Assistants, Out-of-State Manufacturers, Distributors and Pharmacies.
Advance Nurse Practitioners may apply for temporary 15-day registration as per the SC Board of Nursing guidelines.
Providers and facilities will be required to have a Temporary or Permanent SC Professional License with SC Labor Licensing and Regulation (SCLLR).
Temporary registrations will expire on the same date as the Temporary SC Professional License.
The Bureau of Drug Control has waived fees for applications for temporary registrations, and applications must be emailed for processing. Temporary applications are a high priority and will receive expedited processing.
If you are a Provider who will be practicing in South Carolina full or part-time but whose registration is unrelated to COVID-19, then please follow instructions listed under New Registrations instead.
The applications below are to be used ONLY in relation to the COVID-19 State of Emergency:
- COVID-19 90-Day Temporary SC Controlled Substances Registration Application
- COVID-19 90-Day Temporary Non-Practitioner SC Controlled Substances Application
