Board Chairwoman - Seema Shrivastava-Patel

A native of Columbia, Seema Shrivastava-Patel is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Human Resources with a specialization in International Business.

She chairs the S.C. Board of Health and Environmental Control which oversees the agency’s operations carried out by its more than 3,400 employees.

She has spent her more than 20-year career in the convenience industry and since 2017, she has served as President of Carolina Convenience Corporation (CCC) overseeing multi-unit operations and all aspects of the business including sub companies that totals over 600 employees. Currently CCC operates Hardee’s, distributes fuel and develops real estate. 

Giving back to the community is a priority for Shrivastava-Patel, who manages all of CCC’s charitable activities. Under her leadership, CCC has contributed to fundraisers for breast cancer, muscular dystrophy, The Children’s Miracle Network, Harvest Hope Food Bank, Palmetto Children’s Hospital, and the Wounded Warrior Project. She also serves as president of the South Carolina Association of Convenience Stores and serves as a board member of the South Carolina Petroleum Marketer Association, Columbia Museum of Art, and the South Carolina Governor’s Mansion Foundation.

Shrivastava-Patel resides in Lexington with her husband and two children and represents Congressional District 2. She was appointed by Governor Henry McMaster and has served on the board since 2018 and has been Vice Chair since 2021.

She is an Aspen Global Leadership Network Liberty Fellow.
