Reporting
The S.C. Solid Waste Policy and Management Act of 1991 (Act) calls for each county, state agency and publicly funded college and university to report annually the amount of material it recycles.
Specifically, the Act requires DHEC to publish a comprehensive annual report that provides an overview of recycling and disposal efforts in South Carolina during the previous fiscal year (FY). This is based in part on the required information that counties, state agencies, colleges and universities provide on municipal solid waste management in the state. "The South Carolina Solid Waste Management Annual Report" must be submitted to the Governor and General Assembly by March 15 each year. Click here for the most recent copy of the report.
Currently, counties, colleges and universities enter their recycling data using Re-TRAC, a web-based data management system for solid waste. Click here to log-in. State agencies are asked to complete a form and
e-mail to the Office. Click here if you have additional reporting questions.
The "State Agencies, Colleges and Universities Waste Reduction, Recycling and Buy Recycled" annual reports details the recycling and buy recycled efforts of state agencies, college and universities. The information is collected from state agencies, colleges and universities each September and the report submitted to the Governor and General Assembly by November 1 each year.
