Curbside Collection (unincorporated areas)

Lexington County residents may subscribe to curbside solid waste and recyclables collection by contacting the designated hauler for their area. Recycling roll carts are provided at NO ADDITIONAL COST. Some municipalities also provide curbside collection. CURBSIDE MATERIALS ACCEPTED:

  • Paper & Cardboard – newspaper, magazines, inserts, unwanted mail, telephone and soft covered books, envelopes, office paper, cardboard, cartons (flattened)
  • Paperboard canisters - coffee canisters, peanut containers, Pringles and similar snack containers, dough canisters
  • Plastic Containers – bottles, jugs, jars, and tubs #1 - #7 (screw-on lids should be left on, pop-off lids should be discarded)
  • Metal Cans – aluminum drink cans, metal food cans, empty aerosol cans (lids attached or discarded)
  • Glass – bottles and jars only (lids discarded)

Lexington County Collection and Recycling Centers and the Edmund Landfill accept a larger variety of recyclables than offered in Curbside Collection programs.

Edmund Landfill

       CLOSED Sunday

Accepts all recyclable items that are accepted at Collection and Recycle Centers in addition to the following items:

  • Mattresses and box springs (fees may apply)
  • Propane tank
  • Tires (more than 4 per day; fee may apply)
  • Wood Waste (untreated wood, tree/bush trimmings - no size limitations, leaves, grass clippings, pine straw; clean; NO plastic bags or containers)
  • Refrigeration Units (fee may apply)
  • Electronics (computers, monitors, printers/copiers, televisions; limit 5 items per day)

For Sale:

Mulch, Compost and Compost Bins are available at the Edmund Landfill. The costs are as follows:

  • Compost - $15/ton (while supplies last)
  • Uncolored/untreated mulch - $10/ton (while supplies last)
  • Backyard Compost Bin (80 gal., 33” x 33”) - $65 (while supplies last)
