Drug Overdose Deaths 2017 - 2022

This report describes fatal drug overdose deaths that occurred in South Carolina. Data derived from death certificates registered with the Department of Health and Environmental Control Vital Statistics and represent deaths that occurred in the state of South Carolina regardless of the residence of the decedent.


Vital and Morbidity Statistics 2000 - 2021

These reports contain vital statistics for South Carolina. The purpose of these reports is to provide a basic reference for a variety of users. These reports provide statistics on live births, deaths, fetal deaths, abortions, marriages, and divorces. Statistics are presented for South Carolina and its 46 counties.


Detailed Mortality Statistics 2000 - 2021

These reports contain comprehensive counts of deaths for every cause of death coded as an underlying cause for South Carolina residents. The counts of deaths for each cause are shown for race, sex and age categories.


Infant Mortality Report 1999 - 2021

These reports contain detailed statistics on South Carolina infant deaths. The reports include statistics on maternal characteristics as well as causes of death.


Infant Mortality Highlights 2002 - 2015

These reports provide statistics that focus on specific aspects of the Infant Mortality Report and change over time.


Teen Pregnancy Statistics 2000 - 2021

These reports present current and historic statistics on teen pregnancies in South Carolina. Live births, fetal deaths and abortions are included in these reports.


Abortion Statistics 2017-2022

Induced Termination of Pregnancy (ITOP)

All Induced Termination of Pregnancy (ITOP) data for 2022 and 2023 are provisional and subject to change as more reports are received.  Preliminary data will not be updated on a monthly basis.


Maternal and Child Health Data Book 2003-2013

These reports combine statistics from vital records, WIC, and family planning sources for South Carolina residents.


Pregnancy-Related Mortality Report 2013

This report examines pregnancy-related mortality occurring from 2007-2010 among South Carolina residents.
