Each year the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control and the S.C. Department of Education sponsor two professional development programs designed specifically to meet the needs of school nurses.

The "Orientation for Nurses Practicing in South Carolina's School Settings" is designed to complement a school district's orientation for recently hired nurses by providing an introduction to issues pertinent to successful nursing practice. Registration is open to registered nurses and licensed practical nurses.
