Camp Burnt Gin Donations

Camp Burnt Gin is a service of the DHEC Maternal and Child Health Bureau/Division of Children with Special Health Care Needs. With support of public and private funds, DHEC has operated Camp Burnt Gin since 1945 to provide summer camping experiences for children and young adults with chronic illnesses or disabling conditions.

Although DHEC does not actively solicit funds for Camp Burnt Gin countless parents, campers, organizations, and state agency employees contribute to Camp operation through: volunteer activities before, during and after summer Camp season; providing professional services; gifts of regularly used items; selecting Camp for service projects; and/or monetary donations (check or money order only).

To make arrangements for donations of supplies or equipment, contact the Camp Director (Marie Aimone) at 803-898-0784, 803-898-0455 or aimonemi@dhec.sc.gov , or send message to campburntgin@dhec.sc.gov .

Checks should be made out to "DHEC: Camp Burnt Gin" or "Camp Burnt Gin" and mailed to:

Camp Burnt Gin
DHEC Division CSHCN
2100 Bull Street
Columbia SC 29201

Monetary donations will be deposited into a "restricted use" account that is only used for support of Camp services.

All donations to Camp Burnt Gin are tax deductible as DHEC is a charitable organization in compliance with the South Carolina Solicitation of Charitable Funds Act (Charitable Public ID# P8111, tax ID# 57-6000286).

Thank you for your support of Camp Burnt Gin.
